Singles’ Day or Guanggun Jie is a day for people who are single, celebrated on November 11 (11/11). The date is chosen for the connection between singles and the number ‘1’. This holiday became popular among young Chinese people. In recognition of the day, young singles organize parties and Karaoke to meet new friends or try their fortunes. It has become the largest online shopping day in the world, with sales in Alibaba’s sites Tmall and Taobao at US$5.8 billion in 2013, US$9.3 billion in 2014, and over US$14.3 billion in 2015.

Kraig has been one busy ACTONite these last few weeks, he’s been traveling extensively meeting with old friends and making new ones!

He was able to spend time in Xian with Haitao, who heads up our China office. Haitao and his wife Wen did an excellent job of showing Kraig the city!
